In 2006, Daja Hair Salon got started at Ventnor Plaza on Wellington Ave. After years of steady growth, the wrath of Hurricane Sandy hit in 2012. Salon owners, David Velasco and James Armanini were forced to move across the street to Wellington Professional Plaza.
The duo built this new Ventnor salon from the ground up.
Velasco studied cosmetology at Atlantic County Vo-Tec. He worked in salons thru-out the area. David then became an educator for cosmetology, and started doing education for major brands like GOLDWELL.
David moved on to get his Masters in color & cutting in Paris. Training continued in New York and Seattle. David has a 4 week + waiting list to get in his chair.
James Armanini, fresh from Buena Regional High School, helped open Taj Mahal as a bus boy. He worked his way up over 16 years with food & bev / marketing management @ Trump Taj Mahal. James now manages the successful salon.
