The Captain

Captain John Herron has owned and operated The Keeper for 14 years. He holds a US Coast Guard certificate for limited 100 ton, near coastal master certified.

With over 35 year’s total experience in charter boat fishing, Captain John knows the waters off Greater Egg and Absecon Inlets like the back of his hand and takes great pride in putting his customers on the flounder.

The Boat

The Keeper is a 50 ft. custom pontoon boat certified by the USCG for up to 50 passengers. powered by twin four stroke 115 horse power motors, The Keeper is capable of getting you out to the hot back bay fishing spots quietly and quickly.

Equipped with a head and bench seating the keeper is a comfortable way to spend a morning or afternoon where the big fish hole up, in the deep channels of the bay.

The Mates

You’re never alone on The Keeper. Even the novice angler comes off the boat with a smile on his or her face after hooking up with some flatfish. Mike Scanny, the chief mate, will see to your every need, from showing you the correct way to bait your rig, to netting your catch.

When you return to port, Art will even filet and bag your fish. It’s all part of the first class trip you’ll receive when you fish on The Keeper.
