For some, it’s the perfect cure for a New Years Eve hangover. For others, the annual polar bear swim in Ventnor, sponsored by AAAA Bike Shop is the perfect way to ring in 2015.
The largest crowd to date, well over 500 half-naked Ventnor citizens & visitors gathered at Newport & the beach and took a bone-chilling plunge into the 45 degree surf. That was downright warm and toasty compared to the 35 degree air temp on the beach.
On cue at exactly 1pm, Mayor Bagnell gave the signal, letting the frosty frolic begin. Hot coffee & cocoa were served up by Ventnor Coffee post plunge. We even grabbed a steaming bowl of chili inside the community center. Yum. SEE PICS >>
