La’Quetta Small is the wife of Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small. She’s also the school district Superintendent.
The Small’s control a combined $500 million budget. Both plead not-guilty to charges of abusing their teenage daughter.

On AP 15, Judge Bernard DeLury denied a motion to dismiss the case against the Small’s.
Marty and LaQuetta Small due back in court on May 22. Their trial could start in July.

Court records allege LaQuetta punched her daughter multiple times, leaving bruises; dragged her by the hair, struck her with a belt, punched her daughter in the mouth.

“Get off of me, you hit me,” the teen says. “A little punch in the eye ain’t going to stop her,” LaQuetta Small says.
“You punched me in my mouth,” the teen says. “Get off of me!” “Who you telling to get off of you girl!”
La’Quetta Small: “You don’t run me. And I’m gonna touch you whenever I want to touch you.”

AC Mayor Marty Small also threatens to brutally hurt his teen daughter.
When Mayor’s daughter indicates that if she goes to school injured, they will ask what happened, Mayor Marty Small responds: “OK, tell them. I don’t care. What are they gonna do to me?
Mayor Marty Small: “I’m going to earth slam her down the steps. Come past this line and I’m gonna grab you by the head and throw you on the ground. Nothing is going to happen to me!”
Judge DeLury: Mr. Small’s threats to ‘earth slam’ a teenage girl half his size is not ‘trivial.’
Mayor Small allegedly told daughter to “twist up” the story about a head injury she sustained.

J.S. is 16yr old daughter of Marty and La’Quetta Small

Mr. Small is reported to have hit J.S. with a broom, and J.S. suffered a head injury from one of these incidents.
J.S. explained that Mr. Small threw her into the shower, slammed her, and choked her. “He hit her on the head with a broom. She stated she passed out when he hit her on the head with the broom and she collapsed on the floor.
- January 30, 2024: Detectives receive medical records for J.S. from the hospital on January 16, 2024. The medical report states that J.S. was seen for a head injury that occurred three days prior (January 27, 2024). The report indicates J.S. was knocked unconscious by her father hitting her with a broom.
- February 1, 2024: J.S. provides a detailed video recorded sequence of events leading to her becoming unconscious, occurring around January 13, 2024. She describes her father striking her multiple times on her head/face area with a broom.
- J.S. states she found the broom in her bedroom because it was left there when she was being abused. J.S. confirms being rendered unconscious.
- J.S. reports her father, mother, and younger brother standing over her when she regained consciousness.
The court DENIED the SMALL’s motion to dismiss the charges as de minimis infractions. The court reasoned that the alleged offenses, based on facts presented by the State, were not trivial and warranted further legal proceedings.
Disgusting that this trial would take this long to start and that they would even be allowed to continue in their present positions.
When will the corruption stop? When will the government step in and get rid of these thieves once and for all.
I am so tired of paying these high taxes in Ventnor that go into their pockets for abusing the system in every way.
