Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall Ranked Near Top

Historic Boardwalk Hall was ranked as one of the highest grossing arenas in the country by industry publications Pollstar and Venues Today in their 2014 year-end rankings.

Pollstar ranked Boardwalk Hall as the 86th ranked venue worldwide by tickets sold for all concerts and family entertainment in 2014, and the 41st venue in the United States, according to Global Spectrum, operators of the hall, which made the announcement Jan. 12.

Venues Today lists Boardwalk Hall as the 56th busiest venue in North America and second busiest in the country for all arenas 10,001 to 15,000 in capacity, based on all concert and event grosses from Oct. 16, 2013, to Oct. 15, 2014.

“Global Spectrum’s first year at Boardwalk Hall was definitely one to remember, and we’d like to thank all of the artists, agents, managers and promoters who helped us achieve these successes,” said Fran Rodowicz, general manager for Global Spectrum at Boardwalk Hall. “With a variety of concerts, sporting events and family shows that offered something for everyone, we were able to provide a broad spectrum of entertainment to our patrons.”

Rodowicz said Global Spectrum will strive to continue that momentum into 2015.

In 2014, Global Spectrum increased the number of ticketed events at Boardwalk Hall by 26 percent and sold more than 250,000 tickets during the calendar year. The diverse event mix featured four sell-out concerts from Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Mother’s Music Day Festival featuring Charlie Wilson and Lady Gaga, as well as the Bernard Hopkins vs. Sergey Kovalev Light Heavyweight Championship, and a variety of family events including WWE, Ringling Brothers Circus, “Disney Live” and Cirque du Soleil.

The first three months of 2015 will be busy with seven concerts already announced, more than the first quarter of any year since the arena was renovated in 2001.

Global Spectrum (global-spectrum.com) manages the Atlantic City Convention Center, Boardwalk Hall and more than 120 other public assembly facilities around the world. Nearly 24 million people attended more than 15,000 events in Global Spectrum venues last year.

Based in Philadelphia, Global Spectrum is part of Comcast-Spectacor.
