Atlantic City & Downbeach 9/11 Memorial Ceremony

Annual Atlantic City 9/11 Ceremony

Annual Tribute

The 911 Memorial event is held every September 11 at 10 AM. The location: site of the Saracini-O’Neill Atlantic City 9/11 Memorial. Jackson Ave and the Boardwalk, on the border of Atlantic City and Ventnor.

Rain or shine. The ceremony area is wheel chair accessible.

Patriotism is symbolized by flying a 30’ x 60’ American Flag strung between two Atlantic City Fire Department (ACFD) ladder trucks as our backdrop for the ceremony. The flag is flanked by over 100 uniformed Police and Fire personnel.

A 911 tribute displaying national pride and love of country.

In the spirit of the memorial service the ACFD Sandpipers Pipes and Drums provide music.

Patriotic songs are sung by Miss Americas and local vocalists.

USMC Sgt. Chuck Knutson of Last Salute presents a memorial flag to the family of a local military police officer, firefighter or civilian who has provided distinguished service to our country.

The Atlantic City Fire Department (ACFD) Sandpipers Pipes and Drums provide music, and local entertainers sing traditional patriotic songs.

A 40 ton, 9/11 themed sand sculpture by world renowned artist John Gowdy reminds us all what we lost on September 11th and how precious life is.

VFW Post 9462 honors our fallen heroes with a three volley rifle salute followed by Last Salute’s three round Civil War Cannon volley, and Last Salute’s memorial flag presentation to the family of a deceased local hero.
