From NJ.com editorial board:
Now that Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small Sr. and his city school superintendent wife, La’Quetta, have been indicted formally on stunning child abuse charges involving their 15-year-old daughter, what’s next?
Both are still performing their taxpayer-funded jobs, and have been since spring, when these allegations first surfaced.
The other day, Gov. Phil Murphy tepidly offered that the mayor should “consider” stepping down.
It seems that the governor would rather have root canal than be pinned down on directly calling for the mayor, a fellow Democrat, to resign or take a leave of absence.
Don’t think that the mayor failed to emphasize that “consider” weasel word in his public response to Murphy’s comments.
The governor never asked him to resign, Small said, apparently viewing this as permission to stay in office.
N.J. city’s embattled, indicted pair should bow out, for now

They both should of been fired soon as charges were filed back in the spring.
what makes them above the law?
why are they not been treated like all other peeps that have same charges?
why are they still allowed to be in charge of children?
“Considered” should not have even been considered. Neither one should be considered above the law.
The message is that our children are not important and this entire situation is symbolic of the dysfunctionality that continues to perpetuate the culture in Atlantic City.
This is crazy. They all should have been fired back when these allegations were first spoken of.
Now they have been indicted and nothing is still being done.
They all still have their jobs.
They all need to be let go and Mayor Marty Small needs to step down for sure
The question should be what is wrong with the School board ?Are they afraid of retaliation ?Where are the sending districts representatives ?Where are the parents of the children ?Is everyone afraid of this couple?!How many school board family members are employees of the city? Why hasn’t City council giving this Mayor a No Confidince vote?
