The Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office was honored to participate in this year’s ‘Shop with a Hero’ event, hosted by EHT Police Activities League and Walmart of Mays Landing.
The department teamed up with other local law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and members from the armed forces to provide over 100 children with a memorable day.
Chief O’Donoghue, Sgt Lomonaco, Detective Gallagher, K-9 Officer Kelso, Officer Freeto, and the Sheriff, assisted six children, thanks to the generosity of donations from PBA Local 243, Friends of Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office, and personal contributions from department employees.
The Sheriff’s officers started the day by playing games with the participating children.
Kids were then bused to Walmart in a parade of lights and sirens. The awesome day concluded by assisting children in selecting their desired gifts.
It was a great day and a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season!
