Real Estate RE-VALS coming to Brigantine and all of Atlantic County, including Ventnor and Margate.
Brigantine City Council met on Feb 19 and discussed need for a REVAL, re-evaluation or re-assessment of properties within the municipality, as mandated by the county.

Brigantine Mayor Sera and council weighing options, considering whether to handle the process in-house or through a county shared service.
Council will need to create new tax maps approved by the state of New Jersey before moving forward.
A key concern is avoiding the issues experienced during past reassessments conducted by outside companies, which led to numerous tax appeals and budgetary complications.

Brigantine, Ventnor and Margate face Real estate RE-VAL.
Combine this with the following:
Artificially inflated values of STR, Short Term Rentals.
Rising cost of insurance.
Higher school taxes with declining student attendance.
Water infrastructure, lead pipe replacement.
Electric bills supporting offshore wind and ‘green energy’ initiatives.
Extreme lack of transparency at Brigantine Planning Board.

It seems AC is not included since it underwent REVAL a few years ago. However, I’m curious how high taxes can keep going. You can only keep pushing people around for so long. Property taxes are a scam. What they need to do is REVAL state and local government. Thoughts?
Absolutely , we need to vote them all OUT . They already assessment the big Meg a Mansions they approve after their build – which increases our infrastructure costs – so why reassess the existing people (locals and retirees) – I guess they want these towns to go dark in winter and be summer towns – which will effect their long list of employees (friends) on their books – it’s not sustainable . Every year the county taxes go up in the towns – that’s what the towns say – “we aren’t raising taxes – the county is” the county is requesting this ?
That’s Margate’s line! It’s time to have them all look at their books and start cutting – like the federal government is doing .
