ATV Driver Arrested for Assaulting Atlantic City Motorist

On Nov 8, 2025, around 5 PM, Atlantic City Police officers were dispatched to the eastbound lanes on route 30 in reference to reports of all-terrain vehicles (ATV) being operated in a reckless manner.  

One rider was using hand gestures that he was armed with a handgun concerning drivers.  

As officers arrived into the area on route 30, they witnessed two riders blocking a vehicle and confronting the driver. 

One ATV rider, Elijah Johnson, began to assault the vehicle’s driver. 

Officer Syid Evans-White intervened and began to attempt to arrest Johnson who tried to flee. After a struggle, Johnson was able to arrest Johnson with the assistance of responding officers.

Johnson’s ATV was impounded. The second ATV rider fled the area and was unable to be located.

“The Atlantic City Police Department continues to take a proactive stance against illegal ATV and dirt bike activity throughout the city.

These vehicles pose serious risks to public safety, endanger pedestrians and motorists.” declared ACPD Chief James Sarkos.

ATV Rider Arrested for Assault, Resisting Arrest After Attack on Driver

ARRESTED: Elijah E. Johnson, a 28-year-old male from Atlantic City

CHARGES: Assault, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Mischief.

Johnson was released on a summons with a future court date.

NOTE: electric bikes continue to be a safety hazard on the AC and Ventnor boardwalk. Little to no enforcement. Easy to read signage and occasional fines would help. AC could tap their security cameras.
