Beach Tags 2016

Beachgoers in Margate & Ventnor were thrilled to learn about the potential new way of buying beach tags. Hopefully, we’ll soon be able to pay for beach tags via the Internet. We’ll then pick them up on our first trip to the beach. NO need to waste time dealing with local government buildings.

Ventnor and Longport officials are looking into a new app called viplypass.com. It lets beachgoers buy beach tags using a credit card. A small transaction fee pays for the convenience. Margate is also researching the opportunity.

Prices for beach tags in Ventnor and Margate are $7 until Memorial Day, after which the price doubles to $14. Longport charges $15 pre-season and $30 after June 28. Buying online will make it much easier for part-time residents and second homeowners grab those much cheaper, early bird prices.

The app does not replace the current systems of buying tags….it just adds to them.

No cash on the beach? You have greater chance of having a credit card. This could lead to increased beach tag revenues, and faster growth of email addresses that could be used for future marketing purposes.

Beach tag checkers could also have their daily sales tracked. The app can notify users about beach closings and weather conditions too.
