Multi-Generation Family Ownership. Mike Barham and his mother Denise Stamat— are 4th generation owners of the family business.
In 1946, the Gilchrist family opened a bait-and-tackle shop on Maryland Avenue in Atlantic City. They soon began serving sandwiches to local fishermen. Over time, they evolved from just serving sandwiches to a full restaurant.

Gardner’s Basin (Atlantic City) – the original location at 804 N Rhode Island Ave, right on the waterfront.
Tropicana Atlantic City – inside the casino/resort on the boardwalk.
