Ventnor’s Dorset Ave Bridge Boater Warning

The Dorset Ave bridge in Ventnor will remain in a CLOSED TO NAVIGATION position, April 23 through June 1, midnight to 8am daily.

This will help reduce exposure of bridge operators to the COVID-19 virus.

Dorset Ave bridge will open on signal at 2a, 4a and 6a, as long as a 2 hour notice is provided.

Boaters, call 609-909-7200 to request an opening.

Note: The bridge always has one bridge operator on duty. Atlantic County is temporarily removing 1 overnight shift.

Vertical clearance of Dorset Ave bridge in ‘closed-to-navigation’ position, is 9 feet above mean high water.

According to Atlantic County, the bridge will not be opened for emergencies.

Boaters can consider Beach Thorofare and West Canal if unable to pass through Dorset Ave bridge.
