On January 1, 2026 at approximately 12:10AM, the Brigantine Police responded to a call in the 900 block of North Shore Drive in Brigantine for a male with a gun.

Brigantine PD now requesting public assistance in that New Year’s Day incident.

Investigation determined that a group of approximately 100 teens were gathered at the residence when multiple witnesses saw a male inside the house holding a handgun.

Described as a tall male with a medium build dressed in all black clothing with a black cap and black mask.

When police arrived, the large group of teens fled in several different directions.

While police were investigating, they learned that a handgun had been stolen from inside the residence. Descriptions provided by witnesses lead police to believe that the handgun the male was seen holding was a different make and model than the one that was found to be stolen from the residence.

The Brigantine Police Department is asking that any person who was present at the party please come forward with any information that may aid the investigation.

Additionally, we ask that any persons with video surveillance in the surrounding areas (North Shore Drive, Vardon Rd, Sarazen Rd and surrounding streets) please check for any pertinent video footage.

Detectives have been active in the area attempting to locate houses with surveillance cameras and will be contacting homeowners as well.
