Build of Margate Miniature Golf Course Moving Full Speed Ahead

Construction of the new, much anticipated, miniature golf course in Margate is moving along….fast. The family attraction named ‘Congo Falls’, at the corner of Adams & Ventnor Ave. should be up and running for the Summer 2018 season.

Most families applaud a much needed attraction like mini-golf. But, there are those still pushing back. Not happy with this type of business/amusement so close to their homes. Parking is one such concern. Potentially unruly teens is another.

Some not thrilled with process and procedure leading up to commissioner and planning board approvals.

Back in Dec. 2017, the Margate Planning Board granted approvals for a miniature golf attraction at Adams & Ventnor Ave. Developer Mark Benevento of Adventure Golf South, LP, is the force behind this project. Benevento is well known for his successful golf attractions in Ocean City, Avalon and Sea Isle City. Benevento is also the owner of Greate Bay Country Club in Somers Point.

Margate resident Ed Blumenthal filed lawsuit against the Margate Planning Board and Adventure Golf South on March 16, 2018.

Benevento told DownbeachBUZZ that the lawsuit needed to be filed within 45 days of publication / legal notice. Benevento says the lawsuit was not filed within 45 days of publication of legal notice.
