The Atlantic City Board of Education awarded a record breaking 5 year contract to School District Superintendent La’Quetta Small, wife of Mayor Marty Small.

Both Marty and LaQuetta Small were recently acquitted of charges of abusing their teenage daughter.

According to WPG Radio website: the LaQuetta Small contract includes approved incentives:

Year 1, (2026-2027) = $ 305,491
Year 2, (2026-2028) = $ 315,267
Year 3, (2028-2029) = $ 325,354
Year 4, (2029-2030) = $ 335,767
Year 5, (2030-2031) = $ 346,512

Critics question the deal in light of poor student performance. Less than 25% of AC High School graduates can pass a basic math or grammar test.

Critics also recall how local media ‘memory-holed’ the LaQuetta Small Cousin Kayan Frazier story.

As ‘sending districts’, Ventnor, Margate, Longport and Brigantine pay millions each year to send their students to Atlantic City High School.

Ventnor, Margate, Longport and Brigantine have NO seats on the AC School Board. No voting rights either.

Note: AC Board of Education blocks ZOOM video of their meetings.
