Teachers deserve the salary. We have amazing teachers and schools here. I currently have a child in a top 10 college due to the outstanding education at Mainland HS and Margate.
Are you implying they aren’t paid enough?
I am replying. They make too much money, thank you.
Disgraceful that anyone would say teachers make too much money. Do you have any idea at all what it’s like to do their job??
Well let’s see teachers pay 7.5 percent into there pension system ,and can retire and collect a pension for the rest of there lives after ten years not bad ,summers off not bad education funded by property taxes in NJ along with police and fireman local property taxes pay salaries ,there are 546 school districts in NJ so factor in superintendents pay along with ,teachers salaries, but also think about local politicians who collect two pensions say municipal judges , municipal prosecutors, look at other states ,that have starting teacher salaries starting in the low 40,000 range ,so 80 -120,000 not bad for a nine month gig ,564 municipalities with local fire ,police ,emt services , salaries and pension for them and teachers ,so complain all you want about teachers ,there are your property taxes at work ,even like myself who pays and I know others pay more then me more then 8,000 in property taxes I do ,kids are grown I have no kids in school but I still pay a school tax ,tell me how fair it is to a local taxpayer !!!!!
Atlantic city is too, too high. Look at the results. I live near a school. The teachers drive very high end cars, dress like bums and hookers. How a kid could learn from these teachers would take a miracle. All you need to know is who is the superintendent and principal. Criminals who are a disgrace. The other towns are a different story.
They deserve more than that some class room are 25to 30 kids that the parents don’t want home….they have them for 8 hrs or more .parents at like they’re there babysitter. U have 25 kids with different needs .Some teacher don’t have class room help..so leave them along.a volunteer at your school district..
Some
Yes they deserve every cent. They come early stay late spend out of pocket for supplies work on paperwork on weekends usually spend a lunch break making phone calls and checking emails. Most only reach that level after years of service and advanced degrees when other professionals make that much out of school. Now. criminals are a different dirty story.
So a teacher ask themselves wow a pension, summers off, a six figure salary, health benefits that they pay part of for a family, give me a break.
how about a tax break and 1,400 anchor rebate,ok minus my 9,000 tax bill and what do I get, a raise in my gas tax to 45 cents a gallon, 51 for diesel.
don’t forget what the increase in tolls for the ac express way, garden state parkway, NJ turnpike, get my point probably not but this is why myself and my wife are leaving and moving out of NJ.
I’m tired of every tax known to man is here in the( garden)I mean tax me state of nj
