Another Downbeach foodie shake-up along the bay on Amherst Ave in Margate.
After just two summers, Famous Cookie Creamery will not return.
In it’s place? Betty’s Seafood Shack, right next door, will take over that spot with Betty’s BBQ & Fried Chicken.
From Betty’s: We’re excited to announce our next venture, Betty’s BBQ & Fried Chicken.
We will be servin’ low’n slow smoked bbq and killer fried chicken outta the building next to Betty’s (formerly Juniors and, more recently, Famous Cookie).
We have a great menu in the works and will be open for breakfast, with a terrific full coffee program as well.
Sit inside or out. If someone wants Betty’s fried shrimp and their pal is craving slow smoked St. Louis ribs and tasty fried chicken, we’ve got ya covered! More details to follow.
Betty’s Seafood Shack owner is Steve Marchel, the man behind Waterdog Smoke House on the Margate / Ventnor border.

Sounds great!! I’m hoping they’ll consider having Bassett’s ice cream on the dessert menu!! And am hoping there will be a gluten-free fried chicken option, like Betty’s wonderfully offers with their other fried foods!
