Let’s meet Longport’s Barbara Capozzi.
When she’s not working on her latest Real Estate project in South Philly, Renaissance Estates Packer Park, Barbara and husband / builder Frank Scaramuzza escape to their beautiful home on the bay in Longport.
Capozzi graduated from Philadelphia High School for Girls in 1971, studied political science at Villanova University, and earned her juris doctorate from Temple’s Beasley School of Law in 1978.
In 1992, she founded Capozzi Real Estate and Insurance, a firm specializing in sales, rentals, property management and insurance.
Barbara sold the company in 2019 to focus on Renaissance Estates — 14 high-end, four-story townhomes situated within Packer Park, South Philadelphia.
Just 5 minutes from the Walt Whitman Bridge and less than an hour to the beautiful beaches of Ventnor, Margate and Longport.
Capozzis father, Ludwig S. Capozzi Jr., built the first section of Packer Park in the 1960s.
Barbara did work as a lawyer, but it wasn’t a good fit. Instead, Capozzi followed in her father’s foot steps — developing and selling real estate.
Carrying on her family’s legacy in Packer Park is important to her. Renaissance Estates might be Capozzi’s most important project yet.
