The following showed up in our inbox recently:
We recently closed our dispensary due to poor economic conditions and unfulfilled promises made by the AC government.
We committed to a $2m investment with the understanding there would be a cap on the amount of future dispensaries.
We were #7 out of 10 promised.
Told that there would be increased security and investment in improving the neighborhood (which we paid for with extra taxes and fees).
We also gave access to our exterior camera system to provide assistance to the ACPD in reducing street crime and illegal drug dealing.
We took our role in bettering the neighborhood seriously. We generously donated money to various programs to focus on working with young men to be mentored in skills to guide them in a positive direction.
In return, we were treated with indifference and obstacles when trying to address issues.
We made the unfortunate decision to leave Atlantic City to focus our attention on our dispensaries in other markets where we are treated as partners in the communities where we operate.
We are incredibly disappointed with our AC experience.
What did you expect? The city has been on a decline for years with this administration. Most of the administration is thugs who have criminal records. Kash the head of this, have you met him. I bet he is an expert on cannabis, how to smoke it, not run a business. Wake up another failed experiment. Atlantic City must have a new administration if the city has a chance to get better.
