An Atlantic City area classic since 1946.
Margate was blessed to get a Gilchrist Restaurant of their very own not too long ago, inside Margate Towers.
Gilchrist Restaurant: A Jersey shore institution lead by Mike Barham and his mother, Denise Stamat. They represent the 4th generation of family ownership.
Gilchrist serves up signature blueberry hotcakes, simple comfort food, fresh smoothies & shakes.
The namesake Gilchrist family opened their Atlantic City bait-and-tackle shop on Maryland Ave in 1946. Over time, they started selling sandwiches and sodas to the hungry fishermen.

Absolutely loved it… My wife and I walked the boardwalk for a while and just a half a block off of the boardwalk is this great little diner! We had omelettes with home fries… Loved it! Side of pork roll is a must have!
Blue berry pancakes!! The best ever.
Been enjoying them for 30 years
Too bad VASSAR SQUARE condominion occupants didn’t appreciate a well established eatary to serve that immediate community not to mention strollers on Ventnor boardwalk. Oh well…..can’t please everyone no matter how hard you try!!! GO GILCHRIST!!!!!
Been to all their places . Always good food, reasonable prices
and good service. That’s why they have been around for so many years.
