No matter how much sports betting and online gaming grows, IN-PERSON visits to the nine Atlantic City casinos are the most important metric of success.
NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement just reported:
July 2024 IN-PERSON gaming revenue decreased 6% from July 2023.
- Slot winnings down almost 5%
- Table games fell hard by 10%.
Atlantic City Casino revenue fell 2nd year in row.
Borgata was down 3.3% from last year (2023). Harrah’s suffered biggest loss with year-over-year drop of almost 24%. See complete casino financials below.
Casino Control Commission: While casinos saw their highest revenue numbers in a over decade, that was almost exclusively thanks to internet gambling. (Too bad very little of that revenue makes it’s way to Atlantic City coffers or small business owners.)

AC SURF SCHOOL announced they are moving their SURF KIDS CAMPS to Ventnor. Owner of AC Surf School says Atlantic City is NOT SAFE these days, especially for children. Drug addicts wander the beach and boardwalk; trash strewn and crime / shootings daily. The elected officials in AC and the State should be ashamed.
Wind turbine companies will soon industrialize city beaches, coastal waters, neighborhoods and playgrounds.

It is not the 1980s, 1990s or early 2000s anymore, as Atlantic City truly missed the casino boat.
If it were not for the on-line sports book and on-line gaming, these casinos would be in serious trouble.
So much for the Atlantic City casinos turning around Atlantic City and Atlantic County where the city and county would have low taxes and the best of everything when these casinos were proposed way back when.
The last one out of Atlantic City, turn out the lights as the saying goes.
