Margate: The 6th Annual JFS & JCC Golf Tournament, a joint fundraising event between Jewish Family Service and the Milton and Betty Katz Jewish Community Center raised $55,000 to benefit both agencies.

On Thursday, May 30th at Linwood Country Club, 116 golfers teed off in the spirit of friendly competition. Team JFS took home the trophy, which will be displayed at the agency’s Margate office until next year’s rematch.

“We raised much needed dollars for essential community services and it’s an honor working with such great people for such a great cause,” said Brett Balsley, Team JFS co-chair.

The JFS & JCC Golf Tournament featured many exciting on-course contests such as putting, inside the circle, hit the float (a giant unicorn!), and hole in one featuring a 2019 Jeep Wrangler Sahara.

Golfers walked away with great prizes such as foursomes to area golf courses, Philadelphia Phillies tickets, Disney Park Hopper passes, signed sports memorabilia, restaurant gift cards and wine. One lucky winner claimed the “Dine Around” raffle grand prize which included multiple gift certificates to local restaurants.

“It was a wonderful day,” said David Schultz, Team JCC co-chair. “And we are always grateful to the many generous individuals and businesses that sponsor this event, year after year.”

The funds raised will help JFS and the Katz JCC further their mission to provide the children and seniors of Atlantic County, as well as the community as a whole, with programs and services that enhance and enrich their lives.
