Landscaping and Public Improvements
I support strengthening requirements that preserve curb planting strips and landscaping.
However, when landscaping requirements are waived or reduced, I believe applicants should contribute financially toward landscaping elsewhere in the City.
This addresses the fairness issue of why some have to pay thousands and thousands of dollars to beautify Ventnor and others avoid this cost and it would establish a dedicated funding source for beautification projects.
Education Campus
The report proposes complementary uses for the Ventnor Educational Community Complex.
When we built the school addition, it was to accommodate 1200 students. Now, Ventnor is under 500 students, less than half.
I suggest the city fast track discussions with the Ventnor Board of Education to explore uses for the unused space.
The Ventnor City decision-makers are the most disappointing ever.
