Wheels will be rolling along the Boardwalk in Ventnor & Atlantic City on Sunday, June 12. The family-friendly bicycle tour of the shore called ‘Le Tour De Downbeach’ is ready for it’s annual event. The tour also features the beautiful sites of Margate & Longport too.
At 10:00 AM, the wheels will roll. On-site registration starts at 9:30a. It kicks off at Newport Ave & the Boardwalk in Ventnor. Then, it’s an easy-going bike ride that features 14 miles of scenic routes along Absecon Island, AKA Downbeach. Of course, you can peel off anytime if you’re winded….and call it quits. You can even do the edited walking version if you so desire.
A few after-ride events have been planned. You’ll have a few excellent choices on where to grab a bit to eat or spend the rest of the afternoon.
The pedaling starts off with a ride toward Atlantic City via the oceanfront boardwalk.
We pass historic Boardwalk Hall, The Steel Pier and then it’s a U-turn at the former Showboat Casino and Garden Pier. Maybe one day we’ll pass by the Absecon Lighthouse and Gardners Basin? After the turnaround, it’s back down the Boardwalk toward Ventnor, Margate & Longport. It’s the perfect way to discover the seaside towns of Absecon Island.
