Longport Farmers Market Cancelled for 2018 Summer Season

Seems like too much competition in the farmers market space. So much, that LONGPORT had to cancel their Farmers Market for the 2018 summer season.

Scheduled to open June 30, Now canceled. Lack of interest from vendors that are already committed to other markets.

“Since Longport’s first farmers market in 2016, the area has seen a number of new markets open, often drawing on the same pool of vendors and participants,” Mayor Nicholas Russo said in a press release. “This season, the Longport market has lost some key vendors. We were hoping that we could fill these spots with new vendors before the season started. That has not happened.”

Competition from Brigantine, Margate, Ocean City and other adjacent towns.

“We are sad to see the market go, but at this time it makes sense to cancel. I know a lot of hard work goes into the market and I would like to thank all those involved, in particular the Longport Farmers Market Committee,” Russo said.

Margate Farmers Market: Thursdays 8:30a til noon. Corner of Monroe and Amherst Ave.
