THE POINT at Longport’s most southern tip is now open.

The safety fence has been removed. Cars, cyclists, pedestrians and dog walkers are checking out the improvements at Point Park.

A new water fountain for both people and dogs has been installed, along with two new bike racks.

Parking is available for nine vehicles. Work along the jetty continues and will improve storm resilience.

As the project nears completion, the Public Works Department will add more landscaping, light poles, dune protection, reinstall benches and trash receptacles, and complete beach cleanup.
