The Longport Police Department was proud to assist in securing the 2025 Presidential Inauguration in Washington, DC.
The 5 Longport Police Officers:
- Lieutenant Ray Burgan
- Sergeant Shaune Slattery
- Officers Frank Lupperger
- Dean Tibbitt
- Jonathan Saggese

All 5 officers were part of a federal task force dedicated to ensuring the peaceful transfer of power and public safety during the historic event on Jan. 20.
Prior the Inauguration, Longport’s officers, along with nearly 4000 law enforcement personnel from across the nation, participated in a swearing-in ceremony to receive federal deputation.

This step officially prepared them for their roles in providing security at one of the most critical moments in American democracy.
“It was an honor to be part of such a historic occasion,” said Lt. Ray Burgan.
“The experience of contributing to the peaceful transfer of power was both humbling and rewarding.”

Longport Police Chief Frank Culmone: our department is proud to have had its officers represent the borough on a national stage, showcasing the department’s commitment to safety, service, and teamwork.
Their role highlights the importance of local law enforcement supporting national security efforts and ensures that the community’s dedication to public service is recognized on the national level.
Well done!
