The lot, 1,600 square feet on Beach Terrace Ave between 15th and 16th Ave, was the old site of a seawall and has remained vacant for years.

Residents of nearby Seaview Condominiums and Costa Videre Townhomes have formed a Board of Trustees to lease the land from the Borough in order to build the park.

Fundraising will begin soon. Construction is scheduled to begin in mid-September with an expected completion date in Spring, 2026.

One of the most popular destinations in Longport is located at the most southern end of town at 11th  and Atlantic Avenue.

Known to locals as “The Point”, the borough wants to improve this area with a new concrete wall, lighting, landscaping, and restriping the parking lot.

The timeline to begin construction is currently unknown.

  1. Great Job Longport

Love to see this. These towns are swimming in tax money, so it is great to see it spent on something that benefits the citizens.

Meanwhile Margate is blowing $3m on a gas station parking lot on the side of town with no parking issues.

  2. Why is Longport not addressing the vacant lot next to the Pavillion on Amherst Avenue? It has been an eyesore for many years and only a matter of time before someone gets hurt on the unkempt property or falls into the bay with the rotted bulkhead.

  3. Love the park ideas. Point is great I walk there almost everyday and hope I’m still around to see the finished product
