Makt Arts In Ventnor Showcases Local Artists & Crafters

On right: Brenda Dowd of Makt Arts

Brenda Dowd is a self-taught artist that’s still learning every day. The Ventnor resident quickly outgrew her spare bedroom studio. In Nov. 2018, Dowd took the plunge and opened Makt Art Studio & Gift Store on Ventnor Ave.

Makt Arts in Ventnor is both a working art studio, and a store to display and sell the works of local artists and crafters.

Makt Arts in Ventnor was created to showcase, support and sell the works of local artists

Artists love to create, but often don’t have the resources to sell their works. That’s were Makt Arts comes in.

From original paintings to jewelry and glassware, artistry comes in many forms.

Think Makt Arts, whether you’re looking for a painting or a birthday gift.

Dowd wanted to create a place to work on her own art, but also wanted to support fellow artists and craftsmen.

Makt Arts is a unique art consignment store.

Works on display are constantly changing. Up-n-comers are rotated in with established artists.

The Makt Arts store is always fresh and interesting. A wide variety of works to enjoy and purchase.

Brenda Dowd: I love art in all it’s variety. I love being able to browse a shop that has everything from grand paintings to silly tea towels. I hope Makt Arts becomes the place in Ventnor to shop for unique, locally created gifts and artwork.

  1. Brenda is a delight and her store is a wonderful place to find gifts for yourself and anyone on your list!

  2. Just found this wonderful venue for art/gifts. Wow. Had no idea it was within walking distance of my apartment in North Beach. Bought a license plate holder saying, Ventnor, North Beach. Will definitely be back for more gift items.

  3. Hi Brenda,

I just moved from Center City Phila. to Atlantic City. I was told to look you up, as I am a professional artist, who would love to connect with an art community here. I got a BFA from Tyler School of Art in Painting and an MFA from The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. I wonder if you know about private studio spaces for rent. I gave up my studio at The Crane in Philly and now have everything crammed into a 2nd bedroom. Either way, I look forward to visiting your space, when I get more settled.
