In order to win grant money, towns typically need to provide matching funds. All courtesy of taxpayers. Especially those who pay 80% of taxes.
Margate Mayor Mike Collins and Public Safety Commissioner Cathy Horn; the only Margations supportive of this taxpayer funded, non-critical project?

B.A. Moran has a track record of lawsuits and lies. He has been caught in lies already. Deny, deny, deny. That’s his personal oath. The big question, that none of the council persons can or will answer is, why was he hired? There were two other applicants, more qualified and recommended by many of the department heads. Did Moran have bids to get the best price for his investigation? Moran used the same investigator in other towns, too. Hmmmmm. Taking care of his investigator buddy with a non bid job? Hypocrite.!
Mayor Collins and Commissioner Horn can’t manage. The other slate running had no local ties so naturally Collins won.
The rumor is that Don Purdy recommended Moran. The other BA candidates backed out and we don’t know why. Collins is getting bad advice and doesn’t know better.
The public does not understand how local government in NJ works. They don’t understand what a primary is, what the CFO or BA does, what zoning is, what the ABC law is, how the budgets work or what the Commissioners’ jobs are.
You have to go to the meetings and talk before action is taken, not after.
Blumberg is trying to do the right thing, but not able to persuade the public and not getting good advice either because the insiders are helping Collins along with the builders backing him.
Case in point, Collins and the real insiders have not told the public about the Master Plan revisions coming and how another sweetheart deal with James Rutala is in the works. Same guy who got the grant for Washington Ave project that people don’t want now and worked on the Road Diet, one lane plan. But hey, he made money off it.
We need a team that does what is best for the residents not professionals.
Consider Commissioner Horn as the former School Board member and President oversaw a declining student enrollment while increasing the School Real Estate taxes costing Margate taxpayers significant dollars.
Today our cost per student has ballooned to over $38,000 per student significantly more than any other Atlantic County school district.
Our underutilized schools have less than 300 students with an overstuffed teacher, aid, maintenance and management staff.
Collins appointed this Board of Education. Collins and Horn have set their bulldog Pat Moran on CFO Lisa claiming she bought overpriced couch?
They may be local, but they don’t have the skills or knowledge to run a City. Their focus should be quality of life, safety, managing budget effectively. Not enriching family and friends with unnecessary jobs and pensions at inflated salaries.
As for Moran, is it possible that Amedeo and Collins agreed to hire him for Purdy’s support in a future Collin’s run for Assembly seat in Trenton?
It’s politics at Margate taxpayer expense.
Thank you, Joe DiLorenzo for speaking up in reference to making Washington Ave one way. This is insane, extreme and beyond reason. Why would anyone consider doing this to the already congested traffic conditions. Please let me know if I can help in anyway to stop this from happening and creating a hardship for the community.

This city is being run by father Tom Collins and father in law John Amodeo.
Cleary NOT representing the best interests of the full and seasonal tax payers.
The puppets are Horn ( what a mean spirited unqualified person) and Mike Collins.(The lead puppet)
They are following the orders of Amodeo and daddy Collins.
Treating Lisa unfairly to toss her out so Assembly woman Claire Swift can have her husband Voight handed a high paying job. Political payback???? You betcha!
Lisa , our CFO ,is a fine person and has done a great job for Margate for years.

This Washington Ave project is a waste of tax payer money and a means to pay their buddy contractors.
The city spent $3,000,000.00 to pave the way for Siganos to build his project at the old food truck property and his purchase of the building across Ventnor ave.
Margate taxpayers are paying for this parking lot!!
Our only hope is a new strong slate for the next election to oppose this current twosome of Horn and Collins .
Come on folks stand up and be heard and vote in the next election to get this family business out of office.
