The Margate Board of Commissioners is considering a request from Commissioner of Public Works Brenda Taube to increase the number of recycling collections next year and purchasing lidded recycling carts for residents.
In her Dec. 4 meeting report, Taube said coordinating recycling and trash collection would encourage more people to recycle, and be more convenient for both year-round and summer residents.
The Atlantic County Utilities Authority currently collects recycling every other Thursday and picks up trash in different sections of the city Mondays-Thursdays. Under Taube’s plan, recycling would be picked up weekly throughout the year.
