Congrats. Margate has a new civic association. The Margate Homeowners Association of NJ. Officially founded on May 28, 2018.
Mark your calendars for June 30 at 10a for the first organization meeting. Waiting for approval to use the Ross School.
They also need another volunteer for the board. Hoping for another full-time voting resident. Please respond HERE if you’re interested in helping or joining.
Simple requirement to join the Margate Homeowners Association of NJ: own residential real estate in Margate. That’s it. Reach out to Jay Weintraub for more details. Jay is spearheading this effort.
This group is being formed to more fully represent all of Margate’s homeowners. Providing a forum for service and public action.
Margate Homeowners Association of NJ
Shaping the future of Margate, New Jersey.
Create a strong voice. Bring concerns and ideas to the Mayor and Commission.
A majority of Margate property owners (60%+) have no voting voice. By forming a unified group of full & part time residents, these voices will be heard more loud and clear.
While many can’t vote, the Margate Homeowners Association will tap all residential taxpayers. Exert respectful influence on elected officials.
Another benefit of the Margate Homeowners Association: discover & support candidates who’ll consider ALL taxpayers, not just voting taxpayers.
Most part-time residents don’t vote locally. They can vote in Margate if they wanted to, but there’s multiple pros & cons to doing that. (another story for another day)
Part-time residents no longer need to remain helpless. This group has chance to respectfully turn up the heat.
NOTE: Over in Ventnor, elected officials are toying with the idea of a citizens advisory committee. Part-time Ventnor homeowners not happy with lack of City Hall transparency. Ventnor has yet to record meetings for posting to YouTube. Brigantine, Margate & Atlantic City have been doing this for years.
Are Board Members still needed???
I would Love to be part of your new and growing Association…
