Exciting events are filling up the Margate June calendar faster than parking spaces on Ventnor Avenue. From the beach to the bay, the Margate Business Association is welcoming visitors to see why “Margate Has More” this June.

  • Saturday, June 6 – preliminary event for Battle at the Beach at the BoneYard
  • Sunday, June 7 – Le Tour de Downbeach
  • Wednesday, June 10 – preliminary event for Battle at the Beach at Eden Lounge
  • Thursdays beginning June 18 – Margate Community Farmers Market
  • Saturday, June 27 – Beachstock – the Planet’s Biggest Beach Party

Audiences will have an opportunity to choose the bands that perform during Beachstock at two preliminary events for the Battle at the Beach competition: Ashes and Stone and the Dylan McGuire Band will perform 7-9 p.m. Saturday, June 6 at BoneYard Bar and Grill, 20 S. Virginia Ave., Atlantic City; Highlander and StoneBaby will play at 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 10 at Eden Lounge located within Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City.

Families are gearing up for Le Tour de Downbeach, a family bicycle ride that cruises through Atlantic City, Ventnor, Margate and Longport on Sunday, June 7. The event begins 10 a.m. at Newport Avenue in Ventnor. Pre-registration prices are $20 per rider and $15 per rider for families of four or more; the day of the event it is $25 per rider and $20 per rider for families of four or more.

Browse a bounty of fresh produce, baked goods and seafood each week 8:30-12:30 p.m. every Thursday, June 18-Sept. 4, in the parking lot of Steve and Cookie’s By the Bay, 9700 Amherst Ave. Among the vendors are Margate students selling produce grown in its school garden.

Wrapping up June is a celebration of summer at the Planet’s Biggest Beach Party – Beachstock on Saturday, June 27. The all day beach festival takes place between Granville and Huntington avenues in Margate including standup paddleboarding, surfing, volleyball, musical performances, games, children’s activities, bonfire, South Pacific Island Dancers, a performance by The British Invasion and a screening of “The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water.”
