Margate FAQ's
Beach Badges are required during the summer season by everyone 12 years of age and older.
Regular Season badges are $7.00 until May 31.
Senior Citizen (65 and older) badges are $3.50 through May 31.
Starting June 1st ALL badges are $15.00.
Purchase Locations:
- Bloom Pavilion, Huntington Avenue & the Beach, Mon thru Sun 10a to 3p
- Margate Municipal Building, 9001 Winchester Ave, Mon thru Fri 9a to 4p
Veteran Badges- available free of charge at the Martin Bloom Pavilion, 101 S Huntington Ave.
Those eligible include: Active Military and Active members of the NJ National Guard, their spouse and dependent children ages 12 through 25; Other Veterans who were honorably discharged (1 badge) with military ID or discharge papers. The badges are for the current season only.

BBQ’s are ONLY allowed on the Beach JULY 2 and JULY 4, 2017
Kayaking and surfing are allowed only at specific beaches. Contact Beach Patrol Headquarters for those locations.
Hobie Cat sailing is allowed by permit only.
Animals are not permitted on the Beach as per the Margate City Code Chapter 75-6Q.
Beach Badges are required for everyone 12 and older when on the beaches during the season.
Due to State of NJ and Army Corp of Engineers mandate, Margate now has reduced number of handicap access ramps to the beach. Please use these 4 streets for easier access to the beach:

- Huntington Ave
- Osborne Aven
- Jefferson Ave

Never enter the water at an unprotected beach
Beginning June 23 through September 3, the following beaches will be protected DAILY from 10:00am to 6:00pm.

Weekend – September 8-9 – The following beaches will be protected 10:00am to 6:00pm

No Beaches will be protected after September 9 until the following summer season.

Parking permits. Applicants must live in a 2 hour parking zone and have no off street parking available. There is a $5.00 fee for the permit. Applicants are required to bring a valid Drivers License, Vehicle Registration, Insurance Card and proof of residency (for example: a utility bill, lease etc.). NO VIRTUAL DOCUMENTS.
