Are they doing work that deserves those salaries? Do they also get city pensions and what is that?
More taxes for continuing salary increases. This is something that impacts many jurisdictions.
P.S. School taxes are the highest cost to taxpayers.
No wonder Ventnor, Margate, AC and Brigantine DO NOT allow ZOOM video of their school board meetings. What are they hiding?
Why don’t they allow (ZOOM VIDEO) access to meetings?
Because they don’t want us to hear everything they’re doing behind our backs.
They have their own agenda.
And a lot of the employees are part of the friends and family network.
Pleanty surprised to see :
that in 2015 The City of Ventnor info showed there were 324 employees
and that in 2023 The City of Ventnor info showed there were 151 employees
Wow, to think I live on Social Security which would be a drop in the bucket for most of these employees and Ventnor had the gaul to raise water & sewer basic rates.
I don’t know how they sleep at night. There are a lot of permanent seniors who would love to express their feelings on the subject.
Every neighbor I know is complaining.
One said over $400.00 & another over $300.00. To take a shower, wash clothes, prepare meals, in summer maybe water lawn, etc.?
Are there summer residents that are in arrears paying large sums which reflected this change?
As of 12/15/23 the flat rate was $150.00 &a; (actual) usage is added on top.
I’m single, so my usage is low, no sprinkler system yet with the new pricing of $187.50 for flat + usage…
My bill went from $153.85 to $194.60! That’s $163 per year more just for me.
Imagine how many for sale signs will be going up once those with ridiculously high increases decide if this is still where they want to reside.
With due respect, blaming second homeowners has nothing to do with your financial situation. And no one is forcing you to live hear it you can’t afford it. Everyone pays their share of increased costs , you seem unwilling to recognize that.
It is incredible that some of these employee contracts are approved. Quite the liars the people in office always telling us they are saving money. Check out the benefit time and other perks. White collar crime in essence here. During that period when the casinos were shutting down and thousands of lost jobs and mile long bread lines they raise their compensation.
