When Joe Giralo took over as Atlantic County clerk, replacing unpopular Ed McGettigan, he worked on cleaning up the offices in Mays Landing and satellite offices in Atlantic City.
Giralo removed anything that was “bad, outdated and just laying around” according to the Hammonton Gazette .

Giralo instituted a much needed, full-time election department.
Giralo restored free matrimonial ceremonies. Marriages now conducted at Mays Landing and Atlantic City locations by appointment.
Joe was formerly employed at the Atlantic County Improvement Authority.
Joe’s been active in public service since the age of 18 when he was appointed to the Hammonton planning board.
