
Joe Giralo is the Atlantic County Clerk. He took office in January of 2022.
Joe’s been active in public service since the age of 18 when he was appointed to the Hammonton Planning Board. That’s over 30 years of public service excellence.

Giralo oversees 3 main divisions of the Clerk’s Office:
- Registry: Managing all county property and real estate records.
- Elections: Certifying candidates, printing ballots, and processing mail-in voting.
- Services: Handling passports, notary commissions, and County ID cards.
Upcoming 2026 Election
New Jersey County Clerks serve five-year terms. That means Joe Giralo is up for re-election in November 2026. This upcoming cycle will be significant as it marks his first defense of the seat.
Giralo oversees:
- Management of a modernized election security plan.
- Digitizing of property records for easier public access.
- Community outreach to increase voter registration across Atlantic County’s 23 municipalities.

Giralo restored free matrimonial ceremonies. Marriages now conducted at Mays Landing and Atlantic City locations by appointment.
Joe was formerly employed at the Atlantic County Improvement Authority.
