Today, readership is way down for most printed publications. Local politicians not losing sleep over that one. No need to let taxpayers know exactly how the sausage is made.
Some traditional newspapers have successfully transformed themselves. The Cape May County Herald certainly did.

The family-owned Cape May County Herald double-downed on ‘hyperlocal journalism’ where most reporting is local in nature. They ask the tough questions. Especially when it comes to local City Hall transparency.
Some officials not exactly thrilled with ZOOM, etc. Some push back every chance they can.
One such official is Len Desiderio. He’s the Mayor of Sea Isle City. He’s also a Cape May County Commissioner.

Who else is dragging their feet? Margate Mayor, Mike Collins prohibits live ZOOM video of Margate Commission meetings. Planning Board Mtgs too.
Brigantine’s Vince Sera also sees no reason to live video-stream Planning Board meetings.

I am VOCAL out at the county where I have also been addressing double salaries to people that are not working 80 hours a week.
