Postal Truck Fire In Margate Under Investigation

Margate United States Postal Service Truck.

On Sunday, June 23, the Margate City Fire Department and Police Department were dispatched for reported active fire involving a United States Postal Service Truck.

Fire was located on Clarendon Avenue just off of Amherst Avenue. Fire Department personnel arrived two minutes and knocked down the fire.

Margate Fire Department Personnel on scene from Platoon 4 were under the direction of Captain Anthony Tabasso the Incident Commander.

The Postal Employee was checked by Fire Department Personnel and he requested transport to the hospital. He was transported to Shore Medical Center by Ventnor Ambulance with non life threatening injuries for further evaluation and treatment.

The truck was packed with a load of Amazon packages out for delivery.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation and the ATF Agency will be following up with inspection of evidence removed from the scene by Margate fire investigators.
