‘A very winnable Atlantic County Commission seat’ says Margate’s Vaughn Reale.
A former Margate Mayor, Reale now considering a bid to replace Ernest Coursey in the District #1 commission seat.
That’s according to an interview the former mayor did Jan. 10 on WPG Hurley Radio show.
Later in the program, AC Councilman George Tibbitt (D) dropped 2 major announcements.
Tibbitt is switching party affiliation from Democrat to Republican and will ALSO be running for the District #1 commission seat.
Atlantic County District #1 Commission seat covers following areas:
- Atlantic City: All Wards
- Longport Borough: All Election Districts
- Margate City: All Election Districts
- Ventnor City: All Election Districts
- Egg Harbor Township: Election District 13
Is Atlantic County Commissioner Ernest Coursey vulnerable?
Ernest Coursey is Chief of Staff for Atlantic City Mayor, Marty Small.
Mayor Small is currently under indictment for allegedly abusing his teen daughter. Wife LaQuetta also under indictment for same, and still works as Superintendent of the Atlantic City School system.

Ernest Coursey is married to Leslie White-Coursey, interim executive county superintendent serving as liaison for the NJ Dept of Education and all school districts / charter schools within Atlantic County.
Ms. Coursey also served as a principal in the Atlantic City school system.
