Sometimes, the hardest decisions you make in life are the ones that make the most sense.

Anyone who knows us personally and has become part of our TacocaT family will be surprised by this sudden decision. The truth is: We are as nearly surprised as all of you.

But a combination of factors that include inadequate staffing that is impossible to replace and train in the middle of summer, an expiring lease and pure exhaustion are all part of this decision.

And trust us when we tell you we aren’t taking this decision lightly.

There is some good news, however, as Kitty Cat, our popular food truck, will continue operations to be part of your next special celebration or to sling tacos at a local festival.

What started as a small counter inside Linwood’s once famed The Exchange food court grew into a Margate culinary powerhouse and the spot for those looking for made-from-scratch Cali-Mexican food that has been acclaimed by critics and the general public in equal measure.

Along the way we served tens of thousands of tacos, burritos, nachos, tuna poke, cheesesteak eggrolls, Brussels Sprouts and our famous wings, which even took home some hardware at the annual Atlantic City Wing Fest.

I know many of you have a lot of questions. Frankly, so do we. But other than Kitty Cat, we are going to take some time to evaluate the future of this great brand to meet our loyal fans’ high expectations while ensuring we make the right decisions for us, too.

Until we figure out what that means, the most important thing we can do is thank you for your loyalty, patronage, support, love and excellent tastebuds.

And if you’re looking for dedicated hard workers who are now looking for jobs, please reach out at the number below and we will get you in touch with them. Anyone who hires them will be very happy.

  1. We ate there a few times and it was very good and very affordable, especially given that it is in Margate.

I am thinking there is more to this?

Best of luck with your food truck.

    1. Good Luck to You! Sometimes Hard Work, Doesn’t Pay Off! Leases, Insurance.Payroll and Taxes alone are Devastating Enough. Good Help is an Integral Part as well! It’s Nice to Know that Tacocat is Prospering! My Suggestion is Enjoy the Summer With Your Family!

  2. The entire shore market is not doing well. Philadelphia Inquirer just published article on lower rate of occupancy across the board. People spending less. I spoke to waiters at a few popular spots (MC, VC, and AC) and many indicated they are not doing well.

I’m sure there are other reasons but many bankruptcy’s across many retail and services sector. The economy will get worse in the next 6 months.

  3. The place was very good but also was overpriced.

Seems like there is more to it?

Good luck with the food truck.
