Imagine tiny, unseen particles from construction sites—microplastics, fiberglass, silica dust, and more—polluting our air, water, and soil.

These contaminants can travel for miles, infiltrate our food supply, and even invade the human body, causing serious health risks.

Sustainable Margate, a local Green Team, decided to take action. Their groundbreaking ordinance (Ordinance #08-2025) earned Margate City the 2024 Sustainable Jersey Creativity and Innovation Award.
