Beach Tag Info for Ventnor City. Guarded beaches available during the summer months (between Memorial Day and Labor Day). Lifeguards on duty from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily.
Ventnor Beach Badge Fees
Ventnor beach tags required from Memorial Day through Labor Day for all individuals ages 12 and older.
Beach Tags can be purchased prior to June 1 for $10 for the season, and $3.50 for Seasonal Senior Citizens badges.
After May 31, badges are $20 for season. Call City Clerk for info at 609.823.7904 or email lhand@ventnorcity.org.
How to Purchase:
- Online: https://www.jerseycapetags.com/ – physical tags will be mailed to your home.
- Ventnor City Hall: Cash, check, credit/debit cards accepted.
- My Beach Mobile App: Digital beach tags can be purchased through the My Beach Mobile App. Once purchased, the digital tags are stored in the app as an animated QR code that can be shown to tag checkers. Please have badges ready to show at the beach entrance and on the beach when requested by badge checkers.
Public Restrooms
Restrooms from Memorial Day through Labor Day open from 8a. to 8p at the following locations:
- Newport Ave adjacent to Community/Library Building
- Suffolk Ave at Tennis, Pickleball, Volley Ball, Basketball Courts
- Fishing Pier on Cambridge Ave.
Handicap Access
Ventnor City offers handicap locations for ramp access to the beach. Beach mats are located at Suffolk, Dorset, Newport, Derby, Oxford and Somerset Avenue beaches.
Surf Chairs available daily through Beach Patrol from 10:30a to 4:30p. Call 609-823-7948.
Accessible Parking available at kiosk and metered stations located at Suffolk and Somerset ave and Newport and New Haven Ave.
Accessible Restrooms located at Suffolk Ave tennis courts, Cambridge Ave fishing pier, Newport Ave playground, and New Haven Ave library.

Hobie Cat Beach
Somerset Ave and the Beach. Sailboats can be registered for a fee on a seasonal basis. For info, contact City Clerk at 609-823-7904.
Kayak Beach
Princeton Ave and beach. While there are no lifeguards assigned to this beach, it is supervised during the hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. by the lifeguards at Sacramento Avenues. Please exercise caution while kayaking.
Surfing Beach
Located next to the Fishing Pier. Open during daylight hours. There is no lifeguard assigned to this beach, it is supervised during the hours of 10a and 6p by the lifeguards at Dorset Ave. Please exercise caution while surfing.
Beach Volleyball Courts
Two locations. Next to Ventnor Fishing Pier at Cambridge Ave and next to Boardwalk at Somerset Ave.
Dogs on the Beach
May 15 through September 30, leashed dogs are allowed on beach from 7p to 9p and only on areas of the beach washed by the high tide line.
October 1st through May 15, dogs may be walked on a leash on beach washed by the high tide line.
