Ventnor has been making significant progress on key capital projects that benefit the community. Here’s a few projects the works:

AWARDED OR UNDER CONSTRUCTION.

Pickleball and Tennis Court Improvements – Includes court resurfacing, new fencing, courtyard enhancements, and upgraded amenities to improve safety, accessibility, and the overall court experience.

Surrey Avenue Water Tower Improvements – Rehabilitate and repaint the elevated tank with structural, coating, lighting, and safety upgrades to ensure long-term operational reliability.

Reconstruction of Ventnor Avenue – Resurface the road and install new curbs, gutters, and ADA-compliant ramps to improve safety, accessibility, and long-term roadway reliability.

Capital Projects Update – February 2026

IN DESIGN

Lead Service Line Replacement Project – Replace approximately 3,677 lead service lines to protect public health and meet regulatory standards.

Fulton Ave Stormwater Rehabilitation – Replace and upsize stormwater pipes and add a wet well to increase drainage capacity, reduce flooding, and improve neighborhood resiliency.

Drinking Water Well Improvements – Replace undersized wells and install modern pumps, electrical systems, and monitoring equipment to strengthen the reliability, efficiency, and resilience of the city’s water supply.

Department of Public Works Fuel Tank Replacement – this project will upgrade fuel tanks to meet environmental regulations and ensure safe, reliable fueling.

Winchester Ave Sanitary Sewer Main Replacements – Replace aging sewer lines and resurface streets to improve system reliability, reduce groundwater infiltration, and protect environmental and public health.

Winchester Ave Water Main Replacement – Replace aging and undersized water mains in two phases to improve water pressure, reliability, and overall system performance.

FUNDING NEEDED

Lower Ventnor Heights Resiliency Project – Upgrading stormwater infrastructure and implementing flood protection measures to reduce flooding risks and strengthen long-term community resilience.

City Hall Waterproofing – Repair masonry, seal cracks, and apply protective coatings to prevent water intrusion and preserve the building.

Fulton Ave and Fremont Ave Pump Station – this project will construct a new elevated, high-capacity stormwater pump station and shoreline protections to reduce flooding and improve long-term coastal resiliency.

Atlantic Ave Traffic Signal Optimization – this project will upgrade the internal traffic signal controls at intersections.

Boat Ramp Replacement at Ski Beach – this project will enhance the boat ramp, add floating docks, and improve site safety and accessibility to support recreation and community events.

Water Reservoir Surface Recoating – this project will clean and apply a protective interior coating to the aging reservoir to preserve structural integrity and ensure safe, reliable drinking water storage.

  1. How about sorting out snow removal? Monday was not a good look. Only a few streets were maintained. Everyone else has to fend for themselves.
