Ventnor Featured Business: Salon 309 on Dorset Ave.

As a young girl still in 8th grade, Sheri Champion struggled to keep her curly hair under control. That’s when inspiration came calling.

She decided to attend ACIT vocational school in Mays Landing for cosmetology.

I thought hair cutting and styling classes at ACIT would be a perfect fit. Not only to fix my hair, but to make others feel better about themselves.

Sheri knew at a young age, that’s exactly what she wanted to do.

Sheri Champion was born and raised in Northfield, NJ. She graduated from Mainland High School in Linwood.

Upon graduating, Sheri quickly got her cosmetology license and started her professional salon career.

Sheri landed her first, salon job out of high-school at the Lion’s Mane in Linwood.

From there, Sheri was referred to a new shop opening in Ventnor called Krimpers. She worked there for 10 years.

Next stop was Anthony’s Hair Design in Margate. Twenty years flew by fast at Anthony’s.

Now, Sheri Champion is back in Ventnor at SALON 309, teaming up with Steve’s Barbershop on Dorset Ave.

Sheri couldn’t be happier. Over 33 years working on the island.
