The Ventnor Beach Patrol is holding Summer 2022 signups for it’s popular Junior lifeguard program.
You can register online starting May 20, or just visit Beach Patrol Headquarters on the boardwalk at Suffolk Ave thru June 30.
The Jr Lifeguard program educates children about beach and ocean safety, teamwork and the skills needed to become a lifeguard.
Participants stretch, warm-up run and break into rotating stations.
Two, three-day age group session from 10:30a – noon
- Tues thru Friday. Ages 5-9. July 5-8
- Monday through Thursday, July 11-14 for ages 10-14.
On the final day of each group, participants will compete in a beach run and surf dash, followed by a barbeque.
Lifeguard Explorer Program 10:15 a.m. to noon Saturday through Tuesday, July 16-19.
Teens 13-17 learn about ocean skills and safety. What it’s like to be a lifeguard. Participants get first hand experience of real life, everyday duties of a lifeguard.
- Learn to rescue using can buoys, surf boats and paddleboards.
- Learn techniques lifeguards use to keep swimmers safe.
Cost is $15 per child and includes a jr lifeguard T-shirt.
