VENTNOR – MARGATE BICYCLE & PEDESTRIAN PLAN

The Cities of Ventnor and Margate are collaborating on a joint plan to improve bicycling and walking conditions in their communities. The plan will include a future bicycle and pedestrian network that links neighborhoods with schools, parks, businesses, and other destinations.

The study’s recommendations will focus on improving safety and mobility, and serve as the basis for implementing future bicycle and pedestrian projects in Ventnor and Margate.

The project is funded by NJDOT and seeks to improve both biking and walking throughout our two communities. This is the first time two contiguous towns have been studied simultaneously. Public input is vital to the process.

Currently, Margate has a bike path on Atlantic Ave, while Ventnor considers the boardwalk as the city’s bike path.

Our 2 cents: encourage local businesses to install bike racks as it will most certainly attract more customers…..like me…..who prefer to ride a bike as opposed to driving a car.  WAWA ….can you hear me?  :)
