Sunshine, 50 degrees, ugly sweaters, fake antlers, holiday music. Pizzelles too!
It’s the annual gathering of Ventnor Polar Pickle-ballers on Dec 19, 2025.
Better get your pickling in now. Courts will soon be closed for complete reconstruction of the pickleball and tennis courts located between Somerset and Suffolk Avenues.

Project Status: Ventnor City under tight deadline. Courts must be ready for Summer 2026.
- Asphalt Work: Must happen in early spring.
- Color Surfacing: Consistent temps above 50°F needed to cure properly.
- ‘Finishing’ work can’t happen until April or May.

Project Scope and Details
- Plan includes adding 3 new, permanent pickleball courts, replacing one of the existing tennis courts.
- Removal and replacement of asphalt surface, followed by a new color acrylic surface.
- Installation of new nets, posts and chain-link fencing.

The court reconstruction is a comprehensive overhaul rather than a simple resurfacing.
Heavy work expected to take place throughout the winter and spring.
Ventnor City’s target is to have the courts fully operational for Summer 2026.

More Ventnor court updates: addition of new pavilion and shaded area, drainage and concrete improvements to address issues (dead spots) caused by shifting sand and aging infrastructure.
