Ventnor Scrambles to Complete Playground Fixes & Streetscapes

Not a good start for Summer 2019. Business operators along Atlantic Ave in Ventnor not happy.

Messy street-scape and sidewalk work will sadly interrupt the Memorial Day weekend. Maybe a good portion of Summer 2019 too.

Atlantic Ave Mess in Ventnor

Speaking on condition of anonymity, business owners we spoke with, expressed disappointment in Ventnor City leadership. Were street-scape construction promises made that weren’t kept?

Ventnor Commissioner Lance Landgraf took most of the heat. Landgraf allegedly promised that Atlantic Ave streetscaping would not affect the critical summer season.

Was work supposed to proceed block by block? Finishing one before proceeding to the next?

Instead, all 3 North Beach Ventnor blocks on Atlantic Ave are being worked on at the same time.

If Ventnor City government was a private business….heads would certainly roll.

This streetscape project along Atlantic Ave will ultimately be awesome….but it should have been executed one block at a time. Instead, they’re doing 3 whole blocks at one time….within this vital, Northbeach Ventnor business district. Loss of parking and sidewalk. No easy access to stores & restaurants.

The playground at C-Sure Park along the Ventnor Boardwalk continues to undergo repairs. Bad timing, huh?

The popular Ventnor playground is still closed until further notice.

Fixing drainage issues and putting down mulch. Swings, slides and other amusements are also being repaired or replaced.

Residents waiting for an update from Ventnor Public Works Director, Ed Stinson and Commissioner in charge of recreation, Tim Kriebel.

If this is the state that North Beach is going to be left in for the summer, it’s just another slap in the face from the Administration. North Beach has been, for years, the stepchild in Ventnor. This mess on Atlantic Ave. is a disgrace! The season actually begins this Friday, and look at this mess.

Now is the time to put on those halogen lights and work during the nighttime hours!!! Whatever the reason, Memorial Day is upon us, and taxpayers, vacationers, and business owners have been waiting almost a year for these precious months – let’s get this rolling!

What a disgrace streetscape started so late!. And as a local, it was obvious no work was being done every day.
Very disappointed in Ventnor city officials for letting this lapse!
