The City of Ventnor is considering new rules to alleviate the parking challenges it faces each Summer. Under consideration are new residential parking permits, and the possible installation of hi-tech parking meters adjacent to Ventnor business & beach areas.

Should Ventnor do a meter deal with a 3rd party vendor, like in AC? In this scenario, the vendor spends money upfront, and then does a revenue-share with the city. Example: 50-50 or 60-40, etc.
Maybe it’s best for Ventnor to spend its own money and purchase / install the meters? The Ventnor Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on April 20, on these specific issues.
The meters could be installed in many Ventnor spots by Memorial Day. They’re solar powered and accept payment by credit card, smartphone or coin.
The so-called ‘Smart Meters’ can be set to allow a few minutes of complimentary time for those making a quick visit to a local business.
The new 2017 Ventnor parking meter rates could go to $1.50 per hour. Not too bad, considering Atlantic City meters charge $2.00 for a half-hour… and an AC parking ticket is a whopping $51!
